What to Expect from a South Beach Vacation

Sand, Sunshine, Style and Skin

South Beach is celebrated for its electrifying streets full of clubs, bars and fashionable shops as well as white sand beaches that border the Atlantic Ocean. When you stay at Dream on your South Beach vacation or business trip, you're staying in the heart of the renowned Art Deco District with rows of architectural marvels that reflect the city's thick and impressive history. Browse these distinct buildings and explore the city's fascinating areas below in our guide to South Beach and Miami:

Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road is an open-air pedestrian mall, considered South Beach's premiere shopping area. It houses various restaurants and nightclubs, as well as many retail outlets. The street is located in between 16th Street and 17th Street and spans the beach in an east-west direction.

Ocean Drive

The easternmost street in South Beach, Ocean Drive is a popular Spring Break and tourist area, including the famous Pearl and Nikki Beach nightspots. It is also home to several prominent restaurants, bars and shops.

Española Way

Running from Collins Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue, Española Way was conceived by N.B.T. Roney in 1925 as "The Historic Spanish Village," modeled after the Mediterranean villages found in France and Spain. Today the area is dotted with art galleries, restaurants, and quirky shops. Over the past few years, its bars and restaurants have increasingly become a gathering place for the large Italian community in Miami.

Design District

The Design District is mostly made up of old low-rise warehouses and gallery spaces, which have been converted into retail spaces, art galleries, restaurants and cafés. After decades of falling to urban decay, the Design District has risen to fame as an epicenter of art, design, and fashion. It is home to over 130 galleries, showrooms, creative services, architecture firms, stores, antiques dealers, eateries and bars.

Wynwood Art District

The Wynwood Art District is filled with over 60 galleries representing a broad array of artistic styles and statements. Every second Saturday of the month, the Wynwood Art Walk takes place with gallery events and festivities. The area is also home to funky thrift stores, antique shops, eclectic bars, and amazing outdoor graffiti.
